Where am I on the trail?
Due to COVID-19 and to minimize the impact on the trail, we are doing a non-traditional thru-hike called a flip flop. Only 2% of hikers take this route. We begin at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy HQ in Harpers Ferry, WV on April 15. We head north from there with the Spring to Mt Katahdin, Maine, the northern terminus of the trail. We then “flop” back to Harpers Ferry, going south with the Fall to Springer Mt, Georgia, the southern end of the trail.
During the trip, I will carry a satellite locator beacon that sends our location every 30 minutes. Follow along here: share.garmin.com/ronrewired.
